談及銀飾，大家對銀這個金屬的了解有多少呢？今天就要來介紹這個被廣泛運用在珠寶首飾，帶有一些白色和淡灰色光澤的美麗金屬。
銀的特點：
‧ 反光率極高：反光率可超過95%
‧ 延展性高：銀的延展性僅次於金
‧ 不易受化學藥品腐蝕
‧ 性質穩定，活躍性低
‧ 質軟且富延展性
銀的色澤、高度反射，還具有極完美的製作特性——延展性高，讓其成為珠寶史上被珍視的主因。除了與黃金製成合金外，並使用於珠寶飾品。純銀若使用於其他物品或珠寶時，相對來說比較柔軟、易毀壞，因此純銀通常與其他金屬製成合金以增加其耐用性。
銀及其合金：
純度以千分數表示，如800、925、990足銀，最常見的合金是925純銀，即92.5%銀+7.5%銅。純度的其他表示方法為千分數前冠”銀”或”S”，如：銀925、S925。
日常保養：
會導致銀氧化的原因多是空氣裡的氧氣，因此若較長時間沒有配戴，建議將銀飾放入密封袋再放入珠寶盒裡，阻隔銀飾與空氣接觸。此外，洗澡或睡覺時最好不要配戴，並盡量遠離香水及化妝品，游泳時也請不要配戴銀飾品，因為泳池中的氯可能會侵蝕銀飾。
清潔方式：
一般清洗可用銀飾品放入冷水中，以牙刷沾牙膏清洗。當銀氧化時，可使用拭銀布或洗銀水來清潔，通常使用拭銀布就能達到不錯的效果，因為洗銀水的殺傷力較大，如使用洗銀水清洗好後請馬上拿起來用水沖洗，並用吹風機吹乾，以避免水中的氧氣加速銀的氧化。
